FAQ's

Below are some common questions you may have about therapy or working with Your Space Foundation.  If you can't find the answers you are looking for please contact us.

Is therapy for me?
​​Therapy is for anyone that wants to seek emotional support with a difficulty that are facing.  You do not need to be in crisis, you can access therapy any time that it feels right for you.

What will it cost me to find out if you can help?
Nothing.  If you're wondering whether therapy if the right decision for you, or if Your Space Foundation are a good fit, we will discuss this with you over the phone prior to booking an initial assessment appointment.

Can we commission you to work with our organisation?
We work with a variety of other organisations to help you support your children and young people.  If you are a school, charity or supportive organisation please get in touch to discuss how we can work together.

Where do you provide therapy?
Your Space Foundation offer face to face appointments in schools and community settings; alternatively we can work online via WhatsApp or Zoom, enabling you to access therapy in a way that suits you. 

Will I get a Therapist that can support my needs?
We triage all referrals to ensure they are allocated to the Therapist that is best able to meet your needs.  Whilst all our Therapists are highly qualified and experienced they all have specialist areas of interest and expertise, it's important to us that we find the right person for you to work with.

Will you keep my information safe?
Yes, all data and notes will be kept securely in line with the GDPR and data protection policies.

How many sessions do I have to have?
This is entirely up to you and is explored on an individual basis and will be reviewed regularly as therapy progresses.  Some people are looking for a few sessions whilst others prefer to have long term therapy.  

Will you tell me how to solve my problems?
No, therapy provides a space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours in order to gain a better understanding of yourself and make the decisions that are right for you.  

What if I find it difficult to talk about my feelings?
Lots of people, children and adults alike, find it difficult to verbalise the way they feel.  If that sounds like you we can use a variety of creative and play based interventions that will support you to explore these therapeutically.
