Beth is our Counselling Manager and Disability Champion. She has a particular interest in working with clients who have disabilities and neurodivergence.
She has extensive experience in supporting children and young people affected by trauma, disability, Emotionally Based School Avoidance, social anxiety and bullying.
Away from work Beth enjoys spending time with her teenagers, staying active at the gym and going on long, muddy walks and runs with her dog, Molly.
About Beth
After an initial career in the Civil Service Beth began to work with Children and Young People in 2012, beginning as a Youth Support Worker at Youth Clubs in the MK6 area. She then trained as a Special Educational Needs teacher in Further Education, completing placements at Milton Keynes College and at Barnfield College in Luton.
Discovering a love for the pastoral side of education, Beth returned to university in 2017 to study a Master’s in Counselling Children and Young People at the University of Northampton. Since then she has worked in a range of counselling roles with children and young people including in a large Secondary Academy, for an online international school and across Northamptonshire for Service Six, an established youth counselling service in Northants.
A PGCE qualified teacher, Beth has also taught CPCAB counselling courses to adult students at Aylesbury College and anxiety management classes to children and young people from the ages of 7 to 18.
Beth is an accredited member of the BACP and is trained in CBT, humanistic therapies (including play and creative therapy) and systemic family approaches. She has completed additional training in autism, self-harm, trauma. ADHD and Animal Assisted Therapy.
