Hello
Deena is our Safeguarding Manager and spent many years working as a Designated Safeguarding Lead within education prior to training as a Psychotherapist.
Deena has extensive experience of supporting clients affected by trauma, attachment difficulties, low self-esteem, anger and bereavement. She works with clients from the age of 4 into adulthood.
Away from work Deena is a football Mum; when she's not on the sidelines she enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking and watching movies.
About Deena
Deena has been working with vulnerable children and young people for over 15years.
Deena studied at the University of Northampton and completed a foundation degree in Offender Management and then a full BA Hons in applied criminal justice.
Whilst studying, Deena worked for Catch 22, supporting vulnerable children, young people and their families. Wanting to gain experience in an education setting Deena was able to work as a Welfare Officer for a local primary school, there she delivered therapeutic interventions to children in need. Deena also gained a lot of experience and skills whilst volunteering with CABS (Child & Adolescent Bereavement Service).
Wanting to enhance her skills and knowledge and help others more, she then decided to go back to studying and completed her Masters in Counselling Children and Young People and qualified as an Integrative Psychotherapist. Here, she learnt an integrative approach when working therapeutically as each child or young person has their own experiences and individual needs.
Deena is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and she is currently working towards her accreditation. Deena is keen in completing regular CPD, she has completed Level 1 in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP training), Neurodiversity training, Mindfulness, CBT, regular safeguarding refresher training and more. Deena supports a wide age range of children and young people from ages of 4 to post 18; those in care and adoption. Deena also delivers therapeutic parenting support as part of working in a holistic/systemic manner.
